A few weeks ago, Mr AW and I made our way for breakfast to The Wallace Collection, a public museum located in Marleybone in Central London. A little late to the party, I found about their very pretty (and Instagrammable 😉 ) restaurant quite recently.
We booked a table at 10 am just when the restaurant opens. I must admit I have never been on Oxford Street that early in the morning and it almost felt weird not having to weave our way through the throng of pedestrians otherwise seen on the sidewalks 😀
On reaching the Hertford House where Wallace Collection is housed, we immediately made our way towards restaurant in the back. Being the first to arrive, there were no other guests and the restaurant was slowly coming to life. I was immediately impressed by the glass rooftop that covers the entire restaurant.
The atrium lit by natural light flooding through the glass ceiling and the trees and sculptures dotted around the restaurant almost gave it a feeling of a conservatory. We were lucky to be there on a gorgeous day and be seated under the azure blue sky.
The restaurant is a French-style brasserie run by Peyton & Byrne. Our breakfast was a simple but delicious affair and consisted of Scrambled eggs with chives and Avocado on toast with a poached egg on the side. I also ordered a beetroot and apple juice which had fennel and ginger for the zing. Yumm! Finally we finished our breakfast with the perfect cup of flat-whites, our favourite 😀
Outfit details: Shirt – Warehouse / Necklace- Accessorize / Bag – Coccinelle / Watch – Fossil / Lipstick – Nyx Soft Matte in Morocco
After our breakfast, we decided to spend some time exploring the gallery. The Wallace Collection displays fine art, paintings, porcelain, sculptures and furniture collected by the Marquesses of Hertford in the 18th and 19th centuries. I simply loved the stunning colours of the ceramics that were displayed, just look at them!!!
This was followed by some retail therapy on the Oxford Street where I stocked up on some Autumn/Winter essentials (more about it here). It was a perfect day, almost! 😉
