Carry-On Essentials
So, I am heading off to Budapest tomorrow and was packing. And I thought why not write a blog post on my list of Carry-On Essentials for a short flight. For me, a short-haul flight is usually to some destination in Europe, considering that I live in London. So, you may find that my list is a bit influenced by that.
I hope you find this post useful when you travel next. Is there something that you like to pack and is not in my list? Do mention in comments below. I would love to know!
So, let’s get packing. To start with, I gather all the things in one place.
Documents
Passport – This is a no-brainer for International flights. The first thing that I add to the pile is my passport and visa card. Basically, any valid ID card!
Tickets and Reservations – I usually avoid carrying print-outs and keep all the flight and hotel related information on my phone. (Note: I always activate my data plan for Europe) This may not be a suitable idea in all circumstances. For my Budapest trip, this will work.
Electronics, etc.
Phone – I need it, period! But it is not going to the pile straight away. Coz’ I need it to type this blog post right now, silly!
Kindle/Tablet/Laptop and earphones – Entertainment, Entertainment, Entertainment π
Power Bank – Being safe.
Makeup/Hygiene
These are all I need. Not the whole shebang π I always put them in a clear bag. Then at security, all I need is to fish this out and put in the tray. No rummaging around the bag and getting stares from people around.
The Body Shop mini hair brush,
Listerine Pocketpaks breath freshner
Miscellaneous
Wallet – With my cards as well as some currency notes.
Oversized scarf – I get really cold on the plane. A scarf keeps me comfortably snug.
Case for my glasses – I wear contact lenses all the time, but never on planes. They go so dry! I prefer wearing my glasses on the flight.
Bottle of water – I always buy one after clearing the security. It is extremely important to keep yourself hydrated on the plane.
Eye mask – In case, I want to sleep π
Once I have gathered all I need, I put them all in my handbag and I am ready to go! Budapest, see you soon π
Cheers,
Ameeta xx
