It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Yes, it’s that time of the year! The lights have been switched on and London is getting all decked up.
One of my favourite things to do in London around this time is just go see all the Christmas lights and decorations. The shops are beautifully decorated, and the trees are adorned with twinkling string lights. It just feels so festive! Everywhere you turn, you feel this pulsing energy.
When I first moved to London from India, I found it particularly difficult to deal with the winter. The fact that it got dark so early during the day made me feel quite grim and homesick. Then as Christmas approached, I realised that the lights and decorations cheered me up. Since then, it’s been a sort of a tradition – chasing Christmas decorations in London. They may or may not change over the years, I love seeing them every time nevertheless.
Today I will share with you some of the photos of this year’s Christmas decorations in London.
Let’s take a walk, shall we?
The first stop on my festive walk is the Piccadilly Arcade.
Then I crossed the road to enter the Burlington Arcade, lit with blazing yellow lights. Very chic, like all the shops there.
I, then, made my way to New Bond Street to have a look at the Cartier shop front which looks like a giant gift box wrapped in ribbon. I must admit it was too dark, and this must be seen during the day.
I then walked all the way to South Molton Street which was gorgeously decorated last year but this year was a bit of a let down (meh!). Finally, I got to Oxford Street with its usual shiny orbs glittering overhead.
I loved the angels on the Regent Street. Imagine the entire street lined with these!
I finally headed to the Carnaby Street to sneak in a few more pictures before stopping by at Sacred Cafe on Ganton Street for a good ol’ flat-white!
So, this was London in all its bling-y, sparkle-y glory. Go ahead and add this to your weekend outing plan. Feel festive! π

Thanks for making us walk through the Christmas lights right from inside our homes. A job well done.
