My favourite Home Decor Shops in London

My favourite Home Decor Shops in London

From the day that the offer on my new flat was accepted, I had already started planning on how I would furnish it. I was clear I wanted modern, contemporary designs and that meant a trip or two (or three) to my favourite home decor shops in London.

West Elm

For a one-stop shop for furniture as well as homeware, my favourite is West Elm. Their pieces are unique, quirky and trendy, a style that is right up my alley. They are not the cheapest in the market but the quality and service is worth the money. I would call it mid-range, price-wise. If you are in the market for home furniture or home accessories, give West Elm a go.

Here are some of the products I bought from them.

Mid-Century Pop-Up Storage Coffee Table

This ticks every box for me when it comes to coffee table. Mid-century style, walnut veneer, hidden storage and ooh that marble layer. This is the pride of my living room and it’s definitely getting a lot of use. I can pop it up to use it as my work desk and the marble side has been the backdrop of many a Instagram photos 😉

 Tile Wool Kilim – Aquamarine

I have bought this hand-crafted aquamarine rug which is made with wool and cotton material. It looks striking against the wooden floor and adds colour to my very pared-back white living room while bringing the whole look together.

Oliver Bonas

For all things pretty and all things quirky, I head to Oliver Bonas. They have a colourful and playful range of products including clothing and accessories but what I find the most fun is browsing through their homeware. And I always have to stop myself from literally buying everything. I think they are wonderful for home accents as well as tableware.

Large Marble & Copper Candle Holder

Since I have a very light and cool toned theme going on in my living room, I quite like to glam it up by using metallic accents. This candle holder epitomises two of my favourite trends right now. It has marble and it has copper. And together they are on point!

Large Gold & Glass Mirrored Tray

Keeping with the theme of warm metallic accents for my cool toned living room, I bought this gold and glass mirrored tray. It can be used to display jewellery or makeup, but I have placed on it the candle-holder above, along with some other knick-knacks to style my coffee table.

The White Company

I have a little soft corner for home fragrances and I love to have good reed diffusers and candles around my home. For quality mid-range home fragrances, my top choice is The White Company. The diffusers emit a soft and subtle fragrance and last really well. I particularly love the “Day” range.

So, these are my favourite home decor shops in London. Obviously, I don’t limit myself to these shops only. Because you never know where you may find something that just screams (or whispers 😉 ) “Take me home”. However, these are my go-to shops where I know I won’t be disappointed.

Decorating one’s home is an ongoing and evolving process, and there’s never really a finish line. I have taken a slow and steady approach towards furnishing my flat and I am really getting to know my own style. And I am loving every single bit of it 🙂
