The area of Leadenhall Market in London has been a centre of commerce and trading since very old times now. The current building houses a beautiful Victorian covered market consisting of shops and restaurants.
It has a pulsing energy on weekdays owing to its location with the bustling city workers either grabbing their lunch on the go, or stopping by after work to catch a pint of beer (meh!)
However, I love it the best on weekends. You can really admire the beauty of this place on the quiet days when all the shops are closed. The grandiose aura stands out in hushed silence and stillness.
The cobbled streets and passageways, wrought-iron structure, glass roof over the arcades, ornately painted ceilings – they all remind me of a time gone by.
Apart from being a stunning Grade II listed building, the Leadenhall market has also been featured in the “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” movie. This brings many tourists to its wake.
Do check out the stunning Leadenhall Market buildings for some stunning photo ops, especially during a weekend!
